Taking their name from the noted science fiction author Murray Fletcher Pratt (1897-1956), the Fletcher Pratt formed in Detroit in the early '90s around the partnership of singer/songwriters George Dubber and Stephen Palmer. The band went through a few lineup changes before settling on the rhythm section of bassist Joe Lavis and drummer Joe Leone (formerly of early-'90s power poppers the Gershwins). They started in 1996 and disbanded in 2002.
Slumber Party" is a song recorded by American singer Britney Spears for her ninth studio album, Glory (2016). It was written by Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, and produced by Mattman & Robin. The duo was also responsible for vocal production along with Mischke. The song was released as the second and final single from the album, on November 16, 2016, featuring vocals from American singer Tinashe in a remix version
Although casual observers will understandably deem this Detroit quartet power pop, The Fletcher Pratt upheld its city's gritty heritage by not being saccharine dinks. The marshmallow sweets on Nine by Nine (which retrieves some of the eight songs from the brief 1999 mini-album) come wrapped around a craggy rock that leaves bloody scratches rather than a throbbing tooth. For collectors of such curios, the late Fletcher Pratt was the author of numerous short stories, books of historical fact and fantasy.
