Dave Inker and Hilary Hamilton first began to collaborate musically in 1978. Two years later they finished a pleasing debut album, Highs & Lows. Inker & Hamilton recorded two more albums for Sony, Person to Person and Double Feature, before moving over to the PolyGram Records label in 1984 for a forth album, The Mind and the Body

Inker & Hamilton began to have its first taste of true success on the charts near the end of the 1980s and into the 1990s with singles from the albums Dancing into Danger, Poetry in Motion, and Dialogue. The title single from Dancing into Danger stayed on the Top 20 chart for 14 long weeks.
