Hannibal is a novel by American author Thomas Harris, published in 1999. It is the third in his series featuring Dr. Hannibal Lecter and the second to feature FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling. The novel takes place seven years after the events of The Silence of the Lambs and deals with the intended revenge of one of Lecter's victims. It was adapted as a film of the same name in 2001, directed by Ridley Scott.

Also by Thomas Harris. The silence of the lambs. THE DOOR TO DR. HANNIBAL LECTER’S memory palace is in the darkness at the center of his mind and it has a latch that can be found by touch alone. Everywhere there are exhibits, well-spaced and lighted, each keyed to memories that lead to other memories in geometric progression

Читать онлайн книгу Hannibal (Thomas Harris): The sequel to Silence of the Lambs marks the return of Dr Hannibal Lecter. One of Hannibal ’s victims, the influential and rich Mason Verger - a paraplegic confined to a respirator, thanks to Hannibal - is bent on revenge and Clarice Starling provides the perfect bait. senator from Tennessee.

Hannibal Rising reads like the novelization of a screenplay; not surprisingly Thomas Harris wrote the screenplay in the course of writing this novel. That isn't to say the book is a complete loss, for even after so many years since writing Red Dragon and Silence, Harris still possesses a keen aptitude for depicting the animal nature that lurks beneath mankind's veneer of civilization. I also LOVE that Lecter and Starling get together at the end. I know so many think it was crazy but it makes perfect sense to me. The Lecter back story is also enthralling and humanizes the character in a way that the entire SUCKY rendering of Hannibal Rising could not deliver.

Thomas Harris is an American author and screenwriter, best known for a series of suspense novels about his most famous character, Hannibal Lecter. All of his works have been made into films, and now his entire Hannibal concept is being written for television, most notably for NBC's Hannibal. Harris avoids publicity (his last interview was 1976), so little is known about the author. The Silence of the Lambs (1988). Hannibal Rising (2006).

Thomas Harris first introduced readers to Hannibal Lecter in Red Dragon, a tale wrapped around FBI agent Will Graham (the man who hunted Lecter down) and his ability to get inside the mind of the killer. Graham consults Dr. Lecter (the man who nearly killed him) on the case, and the legend of the nefarious Dr. Lecter was born
