Black Rose is the lone album by the rock band Black Rose, whose lead singer was American singer-actress Cher. The album was released on August 21, 1980 by Casablanca Records. Unlike Cher's previous solo records (such as Take Me Home) the album was a commercial failure. It failed to chart and has sold only 400,000 copies worldwide. In 1980 Cher and her part-time boyfriend Les Dudek wanted to form a band called Black Rose.

When my mind's full of things I could tell you If you would only take on my prize of love In my heart, in my soul You're the one, nothing more. Come closer and let the night begin I love you like a living My lover can't you hear me sing You'll see the love inside) If I could only be with you (ooh, oo. .Come closer and let the night begin I love.

Talk about Black Rose - If I Could Only Be With You

Totaly agree here! at the time (no internet back then) i called ZYX and they told me this was only available on vinyl.....after locating the cd after a 2 month of searching.....i was told it did get a CD release but deleted from catalogue within 2 weeks!! (again).... anyhow' i loaded this into my player back in the mid 90's and it wasn't what i expected after the other release "Melody"... i forwarded each one until i hit the one that sound half decent "Alternative Mix" why this wasn't the main version or at least a "Radio edit" who knows but i agree why the Nu Disco mix what were they thinking? i noticed this on quite a few euro release discotized mixes....even the other mixes are way off the "Euro Mix"?? seems somewhat forced produced and do sound messy and the lack of bass common on ZYX again... doesn't help this CD as its very over bright too and scratchy the "Rose Mix" however i am not sure what they were trying to do with it doesn't do anything' but like many cheesy euro tracks they either got bored or just had no idea what direction to go in by 1996 when euro was fading away.
As the previous review mentioned, this is quite the cheese ball, but oh what a good, perfectly-aged cheese ball! That is, if you draw all of your attention on the fifth track, the Alternative Mix. This mix is pretty much on the same vein as Black Rose's previous track, "Melody", and masterfully re-uses the elements of Eurodance and Italodance that made their previous track popular. The whole release seems to have been ignored though -- maybe because it was meant to be part of the Nu-Disco movement that was popular sometime in 1996 (and which consequently faded two weeks later) what with the first three tracks, meant to completely set off Eurodance lovers. Yes, even the Euro Mix is Disco, strangely (and buggy and distorted on my version, maybe some recording errors?).I personally think of the mix of Italodance vocal elements with Disco to be a very teeth-grinding one, and usually overlook most tracks being part of this movement. You might feel like doing the same with the first three tracks, and head directly to the second half of this release, which contains all the goodies -- The Alternative Mix (which should have been the main feature on this release) and its chant edit, the Rose Mix. The Over Home Mix is also not that bad if you like your cheese a little less old. But in overall, there is no question as to why Black Rose didn't succeed in piercing the international market with this release. Badly done (the release lacks bass, but this is a typical ZYX mistake), badly recorded on some tracks, and bad repartition of the genres. However, it still gets 5/5 for me because of how awesome is the Alternative Mix, and is, despite the above bashing, an excellent Italodance collector's item.
This is quite a German cheezeball! Complete with German accent on the vocals and everything!
I must admit i have plonked a 5 star rating on CD's i like i don't rate too many low' if i feel the need to rate low i would choose not to rate especially if only one good mix is included some people may look and think 2 stars wont bother giving it a listen.i should really remove all my ratings of stars as i must have liked them to buy them in the first place' or sold the ones i don't...although i could really give out some 1 star ratings on some really dire songs that have been released......or mixes... or dam right terrible recordings pressed onto CD's....i often wonder what the rating is used for sometimes personel, (for others to see) bad recordings, pressings, the track as a whole etc etc or the Artist?....
Hello "German accent" this is a Italian production with a Italian female singer. Licensed from Italy to Germans zyx.high priced ,"cheese" sold at one time for 63.00 dollars! Ha ha lol
It's actually an Italian cheese ball published in Germany. Depending on how many Italodance tracks you have listened to, this one actually isn't that bad in comparison. We are talking about a genre where majority of the releases are cheesy but if you look deeper you are sure to find handful of good tracks here and there. As the other reviewer mentions Alternative Mix is the best pick here. The other versions are just average dance tracks. What I don't get is people rating something 5/5 because of 1 good mix, there are 5 other mixes here that aren't anything special! Some users rate anything 5/5 as long as the style says Euro House, Italodance or Italo Disco. That just goes to show you the level of bias in the overall ratings.
