In a recent interview, Rob Swire stated that the premise of lyrics has to do with "two young lovers" and how they overcome adversity.

The Island soundtrack from 2005, composed by Steve Jablonsky. Released by Milan Records in 2005 (M2-36132) containing music from The Island (2005). The motif is used as an introduction to the main theme, which is then performed as a sub-theme underneath. This is how the album opens with "The Island Awaits You", which is the main title that plays over Bay's camera soaring over the Pacific coastline. Much of the score for The Island is percussive electronic action music and, given the volume of Bay's action, works fine, since thematic development in such scenes would be lost in the fray.
