In Greek mythology, Orestes (/ɒˈrɛstiːz/; Greek: Ὀρέστης ) was the son of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon. He is the subject of several Ancient Greek plays and of various myths connected with his madness and purification, which retain obscure threads of much older ones. In the Homeric telling of the story, Orestes is a member of the doomed house of Atreus which is descended from Tantalus and Niobe

In Greek mythology, Elektra (/ɪˈlɛktrə/; Greek: Ἠλέκτρα, Ēlektra, "amber") was the daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra, and thus princess of Argos. Electra is one of the most popular mythological characters in tragedies. She is the main character in two Greek tragedies, Electra by Sophocles and Electra by Euripides.

Enter Elektra and Chorus. Elektra: I remember when I was a child. I would run throughout the palace. High my spirits, wild my nature. No servant, no mother dared stop me. I was a terror that no threat of punishment would abate. Daddy would set me on his lap. To tell me to behave, I tried my best. For him I was good, I wanted him to smile. I'd sketch his face in wax with stylus. I'd play at some other quiet game. I know that he was pleased with me. He would give me a garland of crocuses. A crown made for his princess he'd call it.
Elektra Yes, my father’s old tutor. Orestes Does your father have a grave? Elektra Yes, a rather pitiful one. They’ve placed it far from the palace. Orestes Ah! What is it you’re telling me? Sadness bites the mortals hard even when the sadness is of other people. Elektra Can you not remember that when you took Orestes I was still a young girl? And even if I did weave his garments, how could he possibly be wearing the same baby clothes? Unless, of course, clothes and bodies grow together! It must have been some stranger who felt sorry for him and gave an offering of his hair, or some local who took with him some guards to help him. Old Man Where are the strangers? I want to see them and ask them questions about your brother.
