Since an early age Leon played and experimented with music and musical textures. His first original recording was a short composition that he made with one of his best friends when they were very young. They named it A can’s odyssey. it was, by all means, amateurish, but it showed enough creativity to impress their families and friends.

Leon Alvarado is an artist and composer who has recorded with an impressive list of musicians such as Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford, Trey Gunn, Billy Sherwood, John Goodsall and Jerry Marotta among others. Leon’s music first came to light with the release of Plays Genesis and Other Original Stuff (released on Dec. 2008). An album of Genesis cover songs intertwined with original material composed in the various styles that Genesis had throughout their lengthy career.

Impressively conceptual, Yes-assisted fourth album from late-blooming US progger Leon Alvarado. By Joseph Stannard August 17, 2016 Prog. It’s based on a short story by Alvarado, printed on the inner sleeve and there’s further sonic enhancement with noodling Moog patterns from Rick Wakeman on Launch Overture, and Billy Sherwood contributes some anguished guitar soundscapes.
