MTMTMK is an album by London-based DJ and production duo The Very Best, released 16 July 2012 under the Moshi Moshi label.

The Very Best is a collaboration between London-based DJ and production duo Radioclit and Esau Mwamwaya, a singer from Lilongwe, Malawi. Their music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hip hop, pop, and the traditional music of Malawi. He played with numerous artists, including Masaka Band and Evison Matafale.

The Very Best - 'MTMTMK'. There are two ways us Westerners approach Africa. Musically speaking, that is, not as in ‘by plane’. And after the success of their critically acclaimed 2009 debut ‘Warm Heart Of Africa’, Mwamwaya and Hugo (but not the absent Tron) have serious pull for its follow-up, ‘MTMTMK’. They’ve enlisted African heavyweights (star rapper K’naan and producer Mnek) and mega popsters (Bruno Mars and the Mumfords’ Winston Marshall) to make it a world-music event album, and the large-scale end product is like an Afro-futurist, transcontinental world fair that thinks locally but parties globally.

The Very Best's new album, MTMTMK, comes out July 17. Suat Kutlug. One such group is The Very Best, which came into being when the Swedish-born producer Johan Hugo met the Malawian singer and drummer Esau Mwamwaya in a London secondhand shop in 2007. Ever since, the two have been mixing and matching sounds to create "African" music that sounds like a whole world of city-dwelling street sophisticates.
