King King is a British blues rock group, formed in 2008 by Alan Nimmo and Lindsay Coulson, both formerly of The Nimmo Brothers. The band has released four studio albums and one live album to date. The current line up of King King is Alan Nimmo (guitar and lead vocals), Zander Greenshields (bass), Andrew Scott (drums), and Jonny Dyke (keyboards). Their name comes from a former blues club, King King in Los Angeles, which burnt down and was immortalised in a live album by The Red Devils.

King King return with what could be their finest offering yet, Exile & Grace. Kicking off with the first single taken from the album, ‘(She Don’t) Gimme No Lovin’ sets the pace nicely for what is to follow. What you have here is King King ., a beefier, grittier version than we previously have experienced thus far. The album opener is a great start, but ‘Heed the Warning’ lifts it to another level. With a sexy little riff and contagious vocal delivery as ever from Alan Nimmo, you get an all-encapsulating song. Exile & Grace has it all, beautifully bluesy whilst equally reaching out and scratching their Rock itch simultaneously. It is certainly a bold new direction from these talented lads, but, as always, done in the best possible taste. The song writing as ever is flawless. I would actually say that Mr Nimmo has restrained himself on this album in the guitar solo department, leaving the songs to do the talking.

Incredibly, Exile & Grace is the fourth studio album to come from Alan Nimmo and the band, King King. Across this progression the band has grown and matured with both the quality of their songs as well as the way the band perform live which easily explains the slew of awards they have received at the British Blues Awards in 2016.
