Into the Gap is the fourth studio album by the British pop group Thompson Twins. The album was originally released on 17 February 1984 on Arista Records (worldwide). The album was recorded during 1983 at Compass Point Studios, in Nassau, Bahamas, and was produced by Alex Sadkin who had produced the band's previous album
Thompson Twins were a British pop band that formed in April 1977. Initially a new wave group, they switched to a more mainstream pop sound and achieved considerable popularity from 1983, scoring a string of hits in the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the world. In 1993, they changed their name to Babble, to reflect their change in music from new wave to dub-influenced chill-out. They continued as Babble through 1996, at which point the group permanently dissolved.

Thompson Twins' atmospheric and moody 1984 album Into the Gap was their commercial breakthrough in the United States, and remains a classic as far as '80s new wave pop is concerned. Nearly every song on this set differed from the others, with each track taking the listener on a different musical journey. The song that cemented Thompson Twins as a presence on American Top 40 radio was their earnest ballad (and biggest hit) "Hold Me Now," which years later still sounded as fresh and innocent as when it was first released
G, some scuffs/hairlines on surface (. visual grading offered). We can only hope that, just like the "Quick" and "Gap" CDs were reissued as double discs with ALL the remixes from each album, the Twins final big selling album with the whole trio will get similar treatment so that these 5 songs plus all the other 12" versions, alternate versions and b-sides from the album will be compiled together at last.
