Since the release of 2011's Conversation Piece, A Lot Like Birds has signed to Equal Vision Records and released their third studio album on October 29, 2013.
A Lot Like Birds are one of those bands that are not afraid to continually experiment from one song to the next and it results in many surprises throughout the entire album. Plan B can be respectively divided into two three parts, each separated by two filler tracks. The first part begins with the first three tracks and they are essentially a collection of musical ballads that take influence from most screamo, emo, and progressive bands such as Circle Takes the Square, The Fall of Troy and The Mars Volta

Debut album Plan B arrived in 2010, featuring a host of guest musicians and accompanists. By the start of 2011, a solid lineup was in place, featuring dual vocalists Kurt Travis and Cory Lockwood, bassist Michael Littlefield, drummer Joe Arrington, and guitarist Ben Wiacek joining Franzino on his increasingly ambitious productions. Second album Conversation Piece was released in late 2011, and A Lot Like Birds toured for much of the next year, signing with Equal Vision Records to release their third album, No Place, at the end of 2013. Meanwhile, Franzino released an album with his side project alone. Two years later, in May 2017, A Lot Like Birds returned with DIVISI, their fourth full-length and first to feature the vocal pairing of Coate and reformed screamer Lockwood, who began working in a cleaner singing style.

A Lot Like Birds return with sharp ambition to create "No Place. Not so much a departure, rather, an enhancement from 2011's "Conversation Piece. Everything you've come to appreciate about ALLB is evident, but with a more diversity. The record sounds beautiful, but the lyrics and atmosphere are unnerving. This establishes a premise "Conversation Piece" was missing. No Place" is a conceptual album that is executed by lengthy soundscapes. Even with songs breaching the seven-minute mark, ALLB manage to maintain the unexpected. The twists and turns, shifting pace, and layered sounds make the songs seem shorter than they are.
