No One Here Gets Out Alive (1980) was the first biography of Jim Morrison, lead singer and lyricist of the . Published nearly a decade after Morrison's death by journalist Jerry Hopkins, the first draft was written solely by Hopkins, based on an extensive interview with Morrison. But attempts to find a publisher, during the years when the Doors were no longer popular, met with rejections from all major publishers.

Conducted by noted Doors' fan, .

The Doors were founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison in Los Angeles in 1965. They released their eponymous debut album, which contained their hit single Light My Fire, in 1967 and went on to be one of the most controversial and influential rock acts of the sixties. Jim Morrison’s early death in Paris in 1971 only served to fuel their legend and both he and the band have continued to enjoy iconic status for more than fifty years. Ten years after the death of lead singer, Jim Morrison, remaining members of the Doors offer insight into the unique vision of a rock and roll legend. If you're looking for excellent quality live clips of the Doors, I would seek out "Soundstage Performances".

Start by marking No One Here Gets Out Alive as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read. We live in an age where fake gang Five to one, baby One in five No one here gets out alive, now You get yours, baby I'll get mine Gonna make it, baby If we try. He was the Lizard King, he could do anything. When this came out way back in 1980, The Doors were a band many people had heard of but in general (readers please note i said 'in general') were not one mentioned in the same breath as The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles, probably the four biggest, most famous, and ultimately most respected and durable bands to.

When this documentary was first released on home video in 1981 (under the title The Doors: A Tribute to Jim Morrison), it was arguably the best video biography of late Doors leader Jim Morrison. Key players in Morrison's life are interviewed, including surviving Doors members Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore; producer Paul Rothchild; and band associate Danny Sugerman, who co-wrote the landmark Doors biography No One Here Gets out Alive. Best of all, there is plenty of performance footage and interviews with Morrison to give added depth.
