Reloaded ‎(File, MP3, Album, RE, RM). Prescient Thought. SOCIETY BURNING aren't a bad group at all, but there comes a time when the bandwagon's axle gives way and the entire posturing lot are tipped onto a convenient scrap heap to let fresh creativity re-evolve. NINE INCH NAILS defined the music of an (underground) generation, but unfortunately doing it first meant doing it best and very, VERY few of the groups who have followed the format meticulously have somehow got it right. They throw a hell of a lot of enthusiasm into their music and there's hooks a plenty - "Tactiq (Swineflesh Mix)" is fairly lean - decent, danceable.

Lingua is an EP by Society Burning, released on March 5, 1996 by Re-Constriction Records. All tracks written by Society Burning. Adapted from the Entropy. Additional musicians. Alien Faktor – remixing (7). Apparatus – remixing (1). Drown – remixing (2). Hate Dept.

In 1995, Society Burning signed to Re-Constriction. The following year, the label issued the premix cd Entropy Lingua. In 1997, Re-Constriction then issued the full-length album Tactiq. Over the next two years, the musicians worked mostly independently: Daveoramma worked with a cast of voices to bridge songs for the parody/tribute album Cyberpunk Fiction while Boom chr Paige worked as remixer for artists including Leæther Strip, Purr Machine, THD, Urania, Hexedene, and Battery. The band parted ways in 1999, following the closure of Re-Constriction.

This song is by Society Burning and appears on the album State Of Decay (1994).

Originally founded in Las Cruces, New Mexico as a side project of Daveoramma’s in 1991 by the moniker ‘The Watchmen’, a tribute to the Alan Moore graphic novel. They are currently recording, filming, painting, singing, dancing & releasing new material on the 13th of every month  . Includes high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Paying supporters also get unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app. Purchasable with gift card.

Talk about Society.Burning - Entropy Lingua

Jek
There's no great mystery when the leading character says "Someone's Been Here Before!" - we the audience know that, and feel somehow as if we are in possession of foreknowledge which (in most cases) the leading character could really do with (f'r'instance, if he had any sense he'd hightail it instead of getting three-quarters killed before finding the weapon / cure / trap / whatever which will dispatch the 'Baddie' to the hereafter). Same goes for music - the further downstream from whatever wellspring of creativity you subscribe to, the more obvious the effluent of people having relieved themselves into the flow. They throw a hell of a lot of enthusiasm into their music and there's hooks a plenty - "Tactiq (Swineflesh Mix)" is fairly lean - decent, danceable but pretty much wallpaper, not helped by being one of the thankfully few tracks on this album which spice the vocals up with wash-out FX. "Immobilize Me (D.C. Mix)" again uses a colour-bleached sound to create an energetic but bland track which even after around 7-8 listens has failed to imprint itself on my (admittedly reluctant) memory. "Awaken ( D.O.H. Mix)" has a distinctive guitar / bass sound which seems to have originated in the Rocky end of R & B. Good song - kinda aggressive without the threat - energetic. "Waster (D.O.H. Mix)" has a Classic Industrial Rock theme which many will like, and "Fuel Line (D.O.H. Mix)" has a smooth, almost relaxed sound - cool, sharp, dark & dangerous. "Waster (Stomp Mix)" is a thick, full-in-your-face ass-kicking version which would fill a dance floor in an instant. After this version "Waster (Brass Balls Mix)" comes across as fairly minimal and thin. "Awaken (Original Radio Mix)" uses the R & B bass-end in a less pronounced way than in the previous version. The sudden ending makes a great, almost contemptuous conclusion.Okay, so SOCIETY BURNING aren't a bad group, and are probably undeserving of my caustic words, but ... (exasperated gasp) ... I guess the path of least resistance is not always the most interesting one. What they do they do well - no denying that - in a hierarchical chart of 'worthy' Industrial Rock bands they would be way above average, but still not in the top 30 or so.Originally reviewed for Soft Watch.
