Growing Seeds biography GROWING SEEDS was a short-lived psych band from Bayreuth/Germany founded around the couple Andi and Silk Heinrich (guitar, synth, vocals). They produced one critically acclaimed album called 'Miraculous Journey' in 1997. During a short episode in summer 1998 Dave Schmidt aka Sula Bassana adopted the drumming chair. GROWING SEEDS soon broke up though where Andi, Silk and Dave continued with the studio project Weltraumstaunen. In 1999 Pleitegeier Records finally released an EP consisting of one studio and two live tracks. GROWING SEEDS Videos (YouTube and more).
The 13 tracks on Growing Seeds have a tendency to blur together, all shakily held in place by Norrvide's tormented vocal bleats, always lost beneath icy waves of thin keyboard sounds. Taken song by song, the tracks are fine, if unremarkable. None of the songs are audacious enough to command attention with hooks or any discernible statements.
Black Seeds is the third studio album by The Main Ingredient. Released in 1971 this is the last album to feature original lead singer Donald McPherson who had suddenly taken ill with leukaemia, and died unexpectedly not long before the album's release. It was then dedicated to him. Bert De Coteaux - arranger, conductor. Grover Helsley, Jim Crotty - engineer.
Growing Seeds’ isn’t an album for a bus ride. Without your full attention it’ll sound like bits of old machinery making out. Instead, take it to a dark and smoke-filled room. Instrumentals ‘Planted A Seed’ and ‘La Rouge’ buzz and hum, and throughout the album there’s an ominous churn that sounds like a heartbroken machine. No prizes for guessing that Hannes wrote the record when he’d fallen out of love. The half-shouts on ‘We Got Lust’, meanwhile, are similar to those of Norrvide’s friend and collaborator Loke Rahbek, who yelps in the band Vår and leads the Danish scene that spawned Iceage and operates around the record label Posh Isolation.
