Prodigy Present: The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One is a 1999 solo mix album by Liam Howlett of The Prodigy (the latter used as a moniker in this case), initially produced for BBC Radio 1's mix show The Breezeblock. There are more than 48 tunes from many artists mixed, scratched and cut. The album came about as a result of a 1998 guest DJ appearance by Howlett on Mary Anne Hobbs's Breezeblock show on BBC Radio 1, producing a similar set.

The front sleeve says 'Prodigy present The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One'. 3. The back sleeve has photos of Liam's studio. 4. The inside sleeve has a picture of Liam lying in floor of his studio with his mixer and records. Liam Howlett of the Prodigy released his solo DJ Mix album in February 1999, titled Dirtchamber Sessions Volume 1. It contains about 50 cut, scratched, and cross-faded tracks, mixed by Liam himself. It all started near the beginning of October 1998. It was then that UK radio station Radio 1 reported that a few days later the Prodigy’s Liam Howlett will be on Radio 1 in Mary-Anne Hobbs’ Breezeblock show.

damn shame on me, im prodigy fan since 90's im breaking since 2003 and i just found that album, super dope the best tracks ever. after 3 raw hours im speechles and i made that post damnn. 3 weeks ago. It's so underated this! Pure genius is what you are Mr howlett. 2 months ago. A volume 2 soon ? 3 months ago. alchimiepsy that would be something. The Best Mix Ever, The Best Liam Mix. This is amazing. With Love from Russia!

While the Chemical Brothers' mix album (released the year before) showcased the duo digging deep in their record crates for a set of soul chestnuts and rare finds, Howlett's selection and feel for the flow of a mix is superior. Including tracks by the JB's, Herbie Hancock, the 45 King, . Cool J, the Sex Pistols, and Jane's Addiction, Howlett chooses grooves familiar to all and improvises around them (as any old-school DJ would think obvious) instead of mixing between two tracks few have ever heard. The result is an enlightening, practically flawless mix album.
