The Album version has a more ambient feeling, and it has to be the best track on the album. Hell, I would even call YotBR the best Coheed album behind another I shall not express.

The album was produced by Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction) and Joe Baressi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool). Guns of Summer: This track suffers heavily from the shoddy production. The sound effects are more clear than the guitars. Softer than the rest of the album, but it does it better than Far. It's catchy, Coheed, and has a great Coheed guitar solo in there. Oh, but there goes that irritating sound effect that muds up the majority of the track. When Skeletons Live: Another song that I really enjoy off this album! One of the riffs gives a nod back to This Shattered Symphony, earlier in the album. I don't understand the back story for the Amory Wars, but I think this song.

Best song ever made by coheed and cambria. All of their songs ar. UListen to Sample. As a huge fan of the Batman Arkham games and coheed and cambria, these two goes well together. I wouldn't mind hearing more batman soundtracks from them. One of their best in my opinion! No matter how many times I have hears this song (A LOT by the way) I always recognise this as some of Coheed and Cambria's best work. The Crowing is one of the greatest songs from the definitive album of the legendary band Coheed and Cambria. Instead of opting to follow the typical verse-chorus-verse song structure so often followed by bands, The Crowing does a couple simple verses and choruses, then changes direction completely, with a long bridge and interlude section, before heading into the minute and a half outro, complete with an insane breakdown, that makes the song the incredible piece of art that it is. Not to mention, it is one of the trickiest songs guitar-wise that Coheed has ever written  . 23 Guns of Summer UListen to Sample. 24 Cuts Marked in the March of Men UListen to Sample. 25 Willing Well I: Fuel for the Feeding End. A very complex song that makes the wait through some of the samey stuff in the middle of the album worthwhile.

The album opens with " One ", an almost ethereal track filled with a beautiful piano line that truly feels like a beginning, before slamming into " The Broken " a catchy rocker with some brilliant guitar work by Claudio and Travis Stever (see the chorus and the solo), a great bass-line from Michael Todd and great drum-work throughout by Chris Pennie (of. Dillinger Escape Plan fame). Lyrics - 8 A problem that most listeners and critics have with Coheed and Cambria are the lyrics. The story aspect of the band has always been a little unfriendly to the casual listener, but thankfully, Year of the Black Rainbow is the least "story-like" of all Coheed's albums. While the album still tells a tale, the lyrics could very well stand on their own. Claudio's voice is on top form (as always) throughout the album, with highlights such as " The Broken " and proving that he truly is an amazing vocalist, once you get used to his higher voice

For those who have followed Coheed and Cambria's Amory Wars saga from the beginning, Year of the Black Rainbow will scratch the itch of fulfillment until it bleeds. This is the musical prequel (please leave your Star Wars jokes at the door) to vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Claudio Sanchez's saga, concluding the the longest concept album in rock history - five volumes' worth  . Here We Are Juggernaut is an anthem with a tight, catchy melody in both verse and chorus, with overdriven, riffing guitars, thunderous drums, and vocal harmonies that literally soar. In Flame of Error and When Skeletons Live are stop-and-go examples of melodic prog metal at its best. The set closes with the title track, a dark, drifting soundscape of a tune that takes shape about halfway through its seven minutes and roars all the way to the finish for a stellar climax
