Irish doom metal group Dread Sovereign is the latest of a number of underground metal acts to feature Primordial frontman Alan Averill. The man has certainly been busy over the last couple of years or so, that's for sure, but it seems everything he contributes to ends up being consistently impressive.
Cathars To Their Doom 10. All Hell's Martyrs, Transmissions From The Devil Star.
All Hell's Martyrs (2014) by Dread Sovereign. Genres: Doom Metal .
All Hell's Martyrs, Transmissions From The Devil Star. Line-up Bones - guitars Simon "Sol Dubh" O'Laoghaire - drums Alan "Nemtheanga" Averill - bass, vocals. The cd says the last track is Live Through Martyrs, then Transmissions From The Devil Star. Then you most probably have a misprint on your hands Because the last track is really called 'All Hell's Martyrs, Transmissions From The Devil Star''.
A bit inconsistent - 70%. mjollnir, March 24th, 2014. It seems that this album bounces back and forth between the shorter songs and the longer songs with a couple of interludes thrown in. The shorter songs are the best in my opinion. One of these shorter songs, "Pray to the Devil in Man," is the same as the opener, crushing riffs and evil vocals but does not seem to drone on and keeps my attention. Dread Sovereign is the born dead brain child of Nemtheanga from Primordial. Years of string hacking and slashing on guitar have finally come to realization as backed by Dubh SOL (Primordial) on drums and Bones (Wizards of Firetop Mountain) on guitar they have forged a new band.
