The Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie (English: Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia) is a Belgian chamber orchestra based in Mons. The Orchestra was founded in 1958 by the violinist Lola Bobesco and its leadership was entrusted successively to the concertmasters Philippe Hirschhorn, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Georges Octors, and, since 2003, Augustin Dumay. It regularly accompanies soloists, instrumentalists, and vocalists at the semi-finals of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition.

Philippe Hirschhorn (11 June 1946, Riga – 26 November 1996, Brussels) was a violinist. He won the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in 1967. Born in Riga, Latvia, he first studied at Darsin music school in Riga with Prof. Waldemar Sturestep, later he studied with prof Michael Waiman at the Conservatoire of St. Petersburg (Then still called Leningrad).

The Queen Elisabeth Competition (Dutch: Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd, French: Concours musical international Reine Élisabeth) is an international competition for career-starting musicians held in Brussels. The competition is named after Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (1876-1965). It is a competition for classical violinists (from 1937 to present), pianists (from 1938-), singers (from 1988-) and cellists (from 2017-). It also used to hold international competitions for composers from 1953 to 2012.
