Johnny Mathis is the first studio album by vocalist Johnny Mathis that was released by Columbia Records in 1956. The subtitle A New Sound in Popular Song can be found on the back cover but not on the front of the album or the disc label; in fact, this Mathis LP has been referred to as "the jazz album".

The Bach-Gounod version of the Ave Maria was requested by my special friend, 19rebel57. The pictures were provided by her, as well. Some may not be aware that the "Ave Maria" is the Catholic Prayer, "Hail Mary," sung in Latin. The first part of the prayer comes from the The New Testament. The latter part which is included in this Bach-Gounod version of the "Ave Maria" are the Catholic Church's addition to the biblical words.
