Son of a Madison County jailer, was a talented country singer, songwriter, guitarist, and radio presenter. His father was the jailer at Madison County jail and Lee was taught to play guitar by one of the convicts. My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night!" is an anti-slavery ballad written by Stephen Foster, probably composed in 1852. It was published in January 1853 by Firth, Pond, & Co. of New York. Foster was likely inspired by Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin, with imagery witnessed on his visits to the Bardstown, Kentucky farm called Federal Hill.

Book Description: From Matt Lee and Ted Lee, the New York Times food writers who defended lard and demystified gumbo comes a collection of exceptional southern recipes for everyday cooks.
