Grand Funk (commonly known as The Red Album) is the second studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad. It was produced by Terry Knight and engineered by Ken Hamann. The album was certified gold by the RIAA, the first for the group. It includes a cover of The Animals' "Inside Looking Out" which is still a cornerstone of the band's live concerts today.

Grant Green was an excellent and "in demand" jazz guitarist. The numerous recordings he made over the years attest to this. And he was comfortable playing various types of music, including straight ahead jazz, the blues, or Latin inflected pieces. This packaging of two sessions, one in Paris the other at the Antibes Jazz Festival, from his "funk" period demonstrates why no matter what genre he was into, he was one of the top guitarists on the scene. Green's support in these sessions was uneven.

This deluxe 2CD set includes recordings of Green captured at the ORTF studios in Paris on October 26, 1969 with bassist Larry Ridley and drummer Don Lamond, plus jazz guitar icon Barney Kessel playing on the beautiful I Wish You Love; and full concert recordings from June 18 and 20, 1970 at the Antibes Jazz Festival featuring saxophonist Claude Bartee, organist Clarence. Palmer and drummer Billy Wilson. Artist Site Released: May 25, 2018 ON Resonance. Tags: Instrumental Jazz Live Traditional Jazz. Listen Now! FEATURED TRACK  . Funk in France: From Paris to Antibes (1969-1970). Most of the first disc is devoted to an October 26, 1969 concert given at La Maison de la Radio's Studio 104, where Grant Green was supported by bassist Larry Ridley, drummer Don Lamond, and, on "I Wish You Love," guitarist Barney Kessel, while the second part of Funk in France combines four highlights from two July 1970 appearances at the Antibes. While the two performances were separated by a matter of months, they're quite different in execution.

This set brings together a collection of recordings of Green captured at the ORTF studios in Paris on October 26, 1969 with bassist Larry Ridley and drummer Don Lamond, also including jazz guitar legend Barney Kessel comping behind Green on the beautiful I Wish You Love. 3LP gatefold set mastered at the legendary Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at 33 1/3 RPM by Record Technology Inc. (RTI). 2CD - Double CD Set. Label Resonance. More from Grant Green.
