Monkjack is the eleventh studio album by Scottish musician Jack Bruce, released on October 10, 1995 by CMP Records. The album is unique in his catalogue in that he only sings and plays piano, and is joined only by former P-Funk organist Bernie Worrell. It features a re-working of the song "Weird of Hermiston" from his 1969 debut solo album Songs for a Tailor. Jack Bruce - voice, piano. Bernie Worrell - Hammond B3 organ.

Jack Bruce, reunited with lyricist Pete Brown, recorded "Somethin' Els" over a span of nearly six years. He does not explore anything particularly new here--but considering that Mr. Bruce does cover rock, blues, jazz-rock, and ballads--that's not a knock. Well, there is a piano solo, FM, which closes this session and foreshadows Mr. Bruce's subsequent keyboards-only album Monkjack.

Somethin Els is a music studio album recording by JACK BRUCE (Jazz ive Rock) released in 1993 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. While this is a less than average Jack Bruce album, it is still not a bad album. Bruce's bass playing is exceptional as usual, but the songwriting here is not up to his usual standards. Straight ahead rock songs, like Willpower seem to be not very well thought out.

The Boy," track two on Jack Bruce's exquisite CD, Monkjack, has the former blues/hard rocker sounding like John Cale, introspective and ready to tell some tales. The instrumental "Shouldn't We" has the bassist/vocalist from Cream pitting his piano against collaborator Bernie Worrell's Hammond B-3, in a wonderful interplay of keyboard sounds.
