This album is his best work in my opinion, a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. House music fans would love it but it also has crossover appeal. Personally, I have always been more a fan of techno (in the old sense of the word) but this is one 'house' album I wouldn't be without". I first heard of 16B when I picked up the 'Black Hole' twelve inch in my local dance music shop.

Padded Room is the fourth studio album by Joe Budden, released February 24, 2009. Recording for the album took place from 2007 to 2008; at Bennett Studios in Englewood, New Jersey, Glenwood Place Studios in Burbank, California and Sundance Studios in Jersey City, New Jersey, and it was mixed and mastered at Cyber Sound Studio in New York City. The record features guest appearances from Emanny, Drew Hudson, The Game and the Junkyard Gang.

Warm, beautiful, expansive, groovy... a very good record from a previous century.

I have very specific memories tied to this album. I only listened to it 12 years after its release but it's still an incredible journey as many have described here. Omid laid down a deep house template that can't be replicated and that it's very much his own, unmistakable vibe.

16B's SOUNDS FROM ANOTHER ROOM hits the right spot immediately with the warm chords and driving bass of "New Start." "Change" follows in its mellow footsteps, but "Sounds" picks up the pace a bit. But it's the irrepressible bass of "It Doesn't Have To End" that really catches fire. "Water Ride" doesn't douse this necessarily, but instead introduces a different flow. Almost fifteen years out, the synthesized horns on "A Moment To Stop" sound a bit cheesy, but they're only a small element in an otherwise lush track. The odd harmonics of the bass on "Remote Control" give that track a slightly off-kilter feel, while "Black Hole" is appropriately dark. But "For C" eases us into an calm place with its mid-tempo breaks. Deep enough to dance to, melodic enough to enjoy anywhere.

Just put on track no. 1, "New start". Mmmmm can you feel the groove? Oh yeah !!! =P This is seriously one of the better deep-house albums I have. Just look what label it was which released this masterpiece! Has Eye Q ever failes in releasing quality music? Exactly. Now go and search for this album before you loose you hair ! ^^

Fantastic, lush house that never becomes too tracky. His later releases on Hooj and Disclosure still can't top the original sound he laid down here. 'It Doesn't Have To End' and 'Sounds', in particular, are late-night favorites of mine.
