Using a MIDI-guitar, rather than a keyboard, the Ohio- based composer's music has a spontaneous drive while maintaining the symphonic sensibilities of Vangelis. Dwane is creating truly modern music, born of technology and draped around imagery of possible futures and past mythologies. For fans of synth masters like Jarre or Vangelis, PARADIGM SHIFT will surely be one of their most rewarding spins of 1996. All of Dwane's out-of- sight instrumental albums have garnered much critical acclaim for their state of the art and cosmic listening experiences. - Robert Silverstein, Time And A Word Arguably his finest album to date.

That's 4 out of 6 songs. The other two are definitely listenable, but these other four are standouts to me. They are sonic treats (read: ear candy). and anymore the synth guitar which Mark Dwane wields.

Mark Dwane - Voice Of The Future 06:49. Mark Dwane - Paragons Of Light 07:23. Mark Dwane - The Ancients 06:26. Mark Dwane - The Pleiadian Paradigm 07:19. Mark Dwane - Paradigm Shift 04:47. Mark Dwane - Giza 06:25. The Manhattan Collection: Rituals - Mark Dwane. The Manhattan Collection: Elegant Design - Mark Dwane. The Singularity - Mark Dwane. Anomalies - Mark Dwane.

I suppose it is Dwane's continual drawing upon the Muse of hidden sciences, the paranormal, and alternate occultic realities that keeps his vision fresh and interesting. On "Giza," you get a nifty taste of Egyptoid synthworlds- mostly done on MIDI guitar. Percussion handled by the Roland R8. Supreme cut, is 7:02 "The Pleiadian Paradigm. It was a true Jonn Serrie moment yet full of strange undertones, otherworldly female croonings, and swirling tachyon drive pulsings propelling you across folded spacetime
