The Joker is the eighth studio album by Steve Miller Band. The album marked a period of significant change for the group as the band abandoned their music for a more melodic, smooth rock/blues sound. Perhaps not coincidentally, it was also their first solid commercial success due to the strong radio-play of the title track. The title track took 19 days to record.

The Joker is unquestionably one of the greatest villains in the history of comic books. Unfortunately, though, the character's track record outside the comics hasn't exactly been spotless. With over a dozen major appearances in TV, movies, and video games, the varied interpretations of the Clown Prince of Crime have cast a pretty wide net from amazing to terrible.

In this version of events, Joker pulls A Death in the Family on third Robin Tim Drake (instead of Jason Todd). By which we mean he tortured, disfigured, and otherwise tormented the kid until he snapped. At this point Drake snitched on his boss, and joined forces with the Joker. Though not exactly in a stable frame of mind. In fact, when Batman comes to his sidekick's aid, Tim snaps out of his brainwashing just long enough to blow Mr. J away. With a spear gun. Though unfortunately it didn't even end there.

Two years ago, I uncovered Joker's plan to unleash a army on Gotham. The drug he used to modify his henchmen was called Titan. Before I could stop him, Joker ingested a massive dose of the Titan formula and mutated into a gigantic abomination. I managed to defeat him, but his overdose had devastating side-effects. Joker was dying and he needed a cure

But not "insane" in terms of "the Joker is crazy," but rather "insane" in terms of how overstuffed the design seems to be. Almost every inch of this guy is offering some kind of message, and none of them are particularly interesting (or necessary). Each bit and piece of this Joker seems intent on telling anyone looking at him, "I'm the Joker!"
