Lone Ranger (born Anthony Alphanso Waldron 2 November 1958) is a Jamaican reggae deejay who recorded nine albums between the late 1970s and mid-1980s. Christened Anthony Waldron, Lone Ranger, 53, scored the number one spot with his sophomore album, Barnabas In Collins Wood, on the UK reggae chart in 1980. The album was done for Thrill Seekers Records and distributed by GG Records. His Barnabas Collins wasn’t the first song to drop in Jamaica, in celebration of the popular ABC daytime soap opera (1966 to 1971) program. Dillinger’s I Thirst arrived in 1976 on his Cocaine album that featured the controversial songs, Cocaine in My Brain and Marijuana in My Brain. And Dark Shadows, an instrumental tune by Charles Hanna & the Graduates also came out in the 1970s.

Produced by Alvin "GG" Ranglin, "Barnabas Collins" was a massive hit in 1980, topping charts in both Jamaica and the . An album of the same name (aka Barnabas in Collins Wood) followed on Ranglin's label, and established him as one of the top recording DJs of the time. Over the next two years, the Lone Ranger recorded prolifically for Studio One, issuing albums like On the Other Side of Dub, Badda Dan Dem, and what many regarded as his strongest LP, M-16. M-16 featured further hits in the title track, "Natty Burial," and "Fist to Fist.
