From the very beginning it was planned that Peppermint Jam would remain an buted label as German distributors, at that time, were more fo. .The turning point, however, was the year 1996 – and Peppermint Jam’s first visit to the Winter Music Conference in Miami (an important international trade fair for electronic music). This milestone in the company’s history resulted in license enquiries from labels such as MAW as well as international collaborations. After their first self-produced releases, the label signed Ruffneck and Everybody be Somebody became their first real hit, soon followed by Boris Dlugosch’s Keep Pushin and Hold Your Head Up High (both featuring Inaya Day).
The Peppermint Rainbow was an American sunshine pop group from Baltimore, Maryland. They formed in 1967 under the name New York Times, playing to local gigs in the mid-Atlantic states. They were signed to Decca Records in 1968 at the behest of talent agent Alan White at Action Talents in NYC, who brought them to New York and showcased them for producer Paul Leka who saw them play and sing both a medley of The Mamas & the Papas and The Fifth Dimension tunes.

The song was considered a big hit in Europe, as it stayed at number three on the German pop charts and was number one on both charts in Belgium, and number one in the Netherlands.
