Talk about The Salvadors - Stick By Me Baby

I have similar but in light blue same cross outs on matrix numbers
What gets me is the recording date seems to be June 27 1971 (the catalog number at the bottom of the label 62771) and was the 1st record played at the 1st Wigan Casino allnighter in September 1973 (according to legend). This might account for the use of the original pressing plates still being around. But then you hear and see things stating it was recorded in 1966 or 67!That puts the numbering system used into doubt for 100s of records pressed at the same plant.I believe it was pressed in 71, when northern soul / rare soul was being whispered about as the "in thing". I wonder if this was recorded in 66/67 and remained in the can till someone found a acetate or master tape and pressed it! Didn't John Anderson from Soul Bowl have a US Base in the old One-derful office? It's possible it was found there? Martin Koppel was over there by then too.I also wonder if it is the Salvadors who recorded on Nike. Groups staying together for at least 5/6 years at least without a recording was virtually nill. I guess the truth will come out.
The First record played at Wigan Casino's First Allnighter was The Sherrys "Put Your Arms Around Me"
There seems to be some confusion here. The first press has thick vinyl with a green label.this is very rare Chicago soul. The reissue using the original pressing plates but has imperfections in the run out and thinner more flexible vinyl. This is quite hard to find these days, due to limited run. Bootleg has a. Blue label on styrene from monarch pressing plant in Los Angeles. Has a delta mark and starts.10. This was booted in quantity
No they are all the same and may have been done at the same time as the dark blue ones.
Very first original press is St. Louis, vinyl has a thickness (1.20mm) with no pimples in the vinyl, and the green label is a deeper shade. Chicago press thinner vinyl (1.10mm) label has a lighter shade.
