The Golden Age is a 2001 album by Chicago-based rocker Bobby Conn, released by the Thrill Jockey label. Conn said that the album "is really about this depressing realization that I managed to extend the teenage years into my mid-30s-that’s happened to a lot of people. American society is structured to deal with superficial identity questions to keep people from making trouble. If your main issue is how you dress and can you wear nose piercings to work, then you’re probably not going to protest wa. 1. Album – Album, is a collection of audio recordings issued as a single item on CD, record, audio tape, or another medium. Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century album sales have mostly focused on compact disc and MP3 formats.

Bobby Conn needs new friends. Sure, they're a talented bunch (John McEntire, for example), but friends are supposed to look out for your best interests; hence the common wisdom of "friends don't let friends (drive drunk/vote Republican/go to Michigan State). Bobby Conn's friends apparently never got the message. They would probably never keep him from driving drunk, voting Republican or attending Michigan State. I say this because no one stopped Bobby. At any point, one of them could have said, "Bobby, this The Golden Age thing. Man, I just think it's a bad.

Jeffrey Stafford (born June 13, 1967), known professionally as Bobby Conn, is an American musician based in Chicago, Illinois. He often collaborates with other artists and film-maker Usama Alshaibi. Conn was born as Jeffrey Stafford in New York, but spent much of his young life in the Chicago suburb of St. Charles.

It takes a few listens, but with a little time the inspired artistic agility of Bobby Conn makes itself known. A shameless borrower, he derives his licks and grooves with the breadth of a P-Funk, T Rex, Prince, Sweet, Motörhead, and Serge Gainsbourg affecionado. On the opener "A Taste of Luxury," the first trace of vocals comes in two minutes into the song, after flourishes of trumpet are haphazardly laced with arena rock guitar. Electric violin enters at two minutes and 30 seconds and female vocals of the Beth Gibson variety at three minutes.
