The Mona Lisa fulfilled 15th- and early 16th century requirements for portraying a woman of virtue. Lisa is portrayed as a faithful wife through gesture-her right hand rests over her left. Leonardo also presented Lisa as fashionable and successful, perhaps more well-off than she was. Her dark garments and black veil were Spanish-influenced high fashion; they are not a depiction of mourning for her first daughter, as some scholars have proposed. Speculation assigned Lisa's name to at least four different paintings and her identity to at least ten different people. By the end of the 20th century, the painting was a global icon that had been used in more than 300 other paintings and in 2,000 advertisements, appearing at an average of one new advertisement each week.

Mona Lisa shows a reserved posture as she sits markedly upright her arms folded across the chest. She welcomes a silent communication to the observer through her gaze which is constantly fixed to the viewer. One of the controversies of Mona Lisa’s painting is the Originality of the picture’s content. A large number of art historians believe that King Francois trimmed the original picture after the death of da Vinci. Some scholars dispute the theory and insist that on either side of the Mona Lisa there were columns. The female figure is said to have a duplicate copy at Dulwich picture Gallery after its trimming (Van Dyke, 2008). The painting was moved to Louvre after the French revolution. The mystique feminine figure was not very popular until mid 19th century due to Symbolist movement

Two years before, she had abruptly ended their affair for reasons revealed later. Henry suspects Sarah is currently having an affair and is considering employing a private eye to investigate. Bendrix was jealous of Henry during his affair with Sarah and had tried to persuade her to leave him. Return of the Mona Lisa. Perugia was restless to get the painting out of his possession. So he traveled back to his home country and stopped in Florence. He eventually went back to France, married and fathered a daughter. He died on October 8, 1925, in a suburb near Paris. Because he had by then reverted to his birth name of Pietro Peruggia, few people made the connection at his passing with the infamous theft of the Mona Lisa. The Theft of the Mona Lisa Makes Her Famous. The Mona Lisa now hangs behind bullet-proof glass in an area of the Louvre that security guards monitor at all times to prevent another theft of this masterpiece that only a Renaissance genius could have painted.
