Jazz guitarist Chris Standring reimagines his best. STUDIO CITY (1 May 2018): Over twenty years and twelve albums into his career as a solo artist, chart-topping guitarist Chris Standring had no interest in putting out a typical best of album. The only song not culled from a previous Standring solo album is the 1996 track Stop It! from an acid jazz band he was in called Solar System. A consistent hitmaker, the classically-trained guitarist basked in the glow of his Sunlight album last summer when it went No. 1 on the SmoothJazz. Standring notched three No. 1 Billboard singles the previous year, including duets with trumpeter Cindy Bradley ( Category A ) and two-time Grammy-winning guitarist Paul Brown ( Piccadilly Circus ).

Chris Standring (born 1960) is a British jazz guitarist known for his heavy use of 1970s-style musical nuances. Before launching his solo career with his 1998 album Velvet, he represented a third of the band SolarSystem, a band that combined elements of jazz and hip-hop. Hip Sway was co-produced with Rodney Lee in 2000. Groovalicious followed in 2003, then Soul Express in 2006. Love & Paragraphs (2008) spawned the title track hit radio single.
