Hailing from Osprey, Florida, a small village due south of Sarasota, Florida - Naismith has been an experimental guitarist and musician for over 25 years. After numerous recordings in the 1980's, and years of dormancy, Naismith finally started putting his vast knowledge and practice of widely varied musics to CD in 2001, and has released 10 titles through 2006. Naismith's music defies categorization, but he is heavily influenced by natural and organic sounds, acoustic ethnic music, electric world music, progressive rock, avant garde jazz, and concrete experimental music.

Ian Naismith (born in 1963) is a prolific composer, musician and surreal guitarist based in Texas and Florida. His music is deeply rooted in the style of ethno ambient which combines various influences of ethnic music and ambient music. He is also a follower of the "Fourth World" musical style which blends ancient/acoustic with the. Other influences of progressive rock, jazz fusion, field recordings, and Musique concrète are prominent
