The First Singles Box (Polydor 986 633 8) was released in the UK in April 2004. In contrast to the nearly simultaneous US release of Then And Now1964-2004 (see Then And Now in Compilations), the UK got a box set of 12 CD singles, with copies of rare pictures sleeves and record labels from around the world. The twelfth CD was the new recordings ‘Real Good-Looking Boy’ and O’Old red Wine’.

The Who have been with several labels over the years. In the United Kingdom and elsewhere outside North America, they were signed originally to Brunswick Records. In 1966, they moved to Polydor Records and took the rights to their Brunswick recordings with them. They created and moved to Track Records the following year with distribution by Polydor. They left Track in 1974 and returned to Polydor directly, remaining with the label ever since. In North America, they were originally on Decca Records. Their 2006 comeback album, Endless Wire, was released through Universal Republic in the US. Contents. Hoffmann, Frank (1983). The Cash Box Singles Charts, 1950–1981. Metuchen, NJ & London: The Scarecrow Press, Inc. p. 639–640. Released as double A-side.

Then and Now is a 2004 greatest hits compilation album by The Who released internationally by Polydor Records and by Geffen Records in the United States. It features 18 Who classics and two new tracks-"Real Good Looking Boy" and "Old Red Wine"-which were the first Who originals since "Dig" from Pete Townshend's 1989 album The Iron Man. "Real Good Looking Boy" is a tribute to Elvis Presley, and "Old Red Wine" is a tribute to former band member John Entwistle, who died in 2002.

First Singles Box. The Who. 21 Tracks. Popular albums by this artist. Tommy (1969 Original Concept Album). The Who Sell Out. See all albums.

The Singles 20 Single. 7" vinyl, Box Set. The Doors Format: Vinyl. The first disc covers all the singles and B-sides released while Jim Morrison was still alive, while the second disc offers the post-Morrison Doors singles that were released during the band's seventies years. This compilation even covers the singles from the controversial An American Prayer album in which the surviving Doors recorded music over Jim Morrison's reading of his poetry, as well as from their 1983 live album, Alive, She Cried, which itself was culled from earlier performances. This great box set reminds anyone who needs reminding that The Doors represent a superbly talented quartet - keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger as much as frontman Jim Morrison – and that at their best they bear comparison with the very greatest.
