Apocryphon is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band The Sword. Recorded at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, Maryland with producer J. Robbins, it was released by New York label Razor & Tie in October 2012.

Japanese version of The Sword's 4th album. Comes with an exclusive 16th track: Hammer Of Heaven. Which was a left over song from their 1st album. Comes in tri-fold sleeve with OBI containing 2 booklets. The standard one in English and one in Japanese. The Japanese one has the lyrics for the bonus tracks including Hammer Of Heaven in English and Japanese and other notes in Japanese. Matrix, Runout: WPCR-14857 MT 961. Mould SID Code: IFPI 446G.

Apocryphon’ is the Sword’s best album to-date. Their existing fan base will love it, and it will be a big draw for stoner metal fans. In addition, fans of classic rock, hard rock and traditional metal will find plenty to sink their teeth into, as well. It includes four live tracks and a cover of the ZZ Top song ‘Cheap Sunglasses. Apocryphon ("secret writing"), plural apocrypha, was a Greek term for a genre of Jewish and Early Christian writings that were meant to impart "secret teachings" or gnosis (knowledge) that could not be publicly taught. Such private instruction to the apostles figures in the canonical Gospels of the New Testament and furnishes the material of the "sayings" Gospel of Thomas and part of the material of the Gospel of Mary.
