This Phil most Chill stuff does sound good. He's tight. But some of his claims as unreleased 1988 seem far fetched. If that was true he would have been ahead of EPMD and Ultra using a similar style.Unless he's remixed his old lyricks with modern/retro production. It just doesn't jibe. But it does sound good.

He's a product of Philadelphia Hip Hop from the mid to late 80's,around the same time as Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince,Cash Money & Marvelous only he didn't get the break that they got. There was a healthy output of good Hip Hop coming out of Philly back then all along the same vibe,if you do research it's easy enough to find on the net....Definitely not far fetched or bullshit, you need to do more research into 80's Undeground Hip Hop !

so how did he manage to release a record back in 1988 using the said same style then pal? that's the point, he was ahead of his time, but wasn't afforded the same breaks that the groups you mentioned got. if he'd have been picked up back in 88, I believe that he would've been as well known as Ultra's or EpMd. I'm glad that he's had a little renaissance of late, as I think that he fully deserves it.
